I was coming back from Best Buy and got caught up behind some traffic. After crossing an intersection, the single lane road that I was on opens up to two lanes. The two cars in front of me (an Explorer and a pearl 3000GT) get into the right lane as we cross while I stayed in the left lane. The road then makes a sharp curve to the right (about 60-70 degrees) and then another back to the left. I always burn it around these turns because burning it around turns is fun. Anyway, long story short, the 3000GT sees me having some fun and assumes I'd be willing to race. We end up at an intersection, me in the right lane, him in the left. He looks over at me so I know he wants a piece. Light turns green. We both bogged slightly and we were even for the first 10 feet or so. Then, as if phantom boost came on, my Z rocketed ahead of him. I had 4-5 cars on him by the time I shut it off at 60. He had aftermarket exhaust, and I had my B&B so the race sounded good too =). My car really does feel a lot faster after putting on the B&B, especially at higher revs. Anyway, I know it's not much...the 3000GT is a whale, but I don't race much and I've been kind of bummed out lately so this was a nice ego boost. Sorry for the long story. Go ahead and laugh at me now. =)
